Local plan and development of Griffin Park
Just been looking at the Council's revised site allocation policy for development in the borough. They are consulting on key development sites for Hounslow. One of the sites is Griffin Park. The consultation makes no reference to the proximity of the football ground to the St Paul's conservation area. Nor does it refer to the fact that the roads around Griffin park are of historic and architectural significance - a pub on all four corners, and 4 sides of Victorian and Edwardian housing (some of the houses in Ealing Road may be older) which despite their history are outside the conservation area.I don't wish to be a nimby but I do think it is important to try to preserve the look and feel of Brentford - as well as ensure high quality new design. Development of Griffin Park will have an impact in the future so I think it is worth starting to voice concerns now.The consultation ends on 28 October. You can find the consultation documents and a questionnaire at http://www.hounslow.gov.uk/index/council_and_democracy/consultations/local_plan_site_allocations.htmAnd if you want to send in comments you can email your questionnaire form to: ldf@hounslow.gov.uk
