Hounslow in Private Eye yet again!

The new edition of 'Private Eye' brings us up to date with the Cllr. Mohinder Gill saga. Yes, he of the "relaxed attitude to the relevant proprieties.... found  by the council's standards committee to be "appalling and to be deplored". Egged on by none other than chief egotist and all round moron, deputy leader, Colin Ellar, Gill appealed against the decision. He lost - the legal bill? £45,000. As 'Eye' comments - "Ouch! But no matter - the ever-generous taxpayers of Hounslow are paying"

It's either cowardice of a collective or individuals.Is it not true that one or two individuals who have had the gumption to stand up and challenge the problem did not get the support they should have but the opposite, A load of people sitting on the fence looking at their shoelaces.That, was what they taught us at school ( in Hounslow ) defined cowardice.It's not as though this is all a secret, the goings on have been plastered all over the place.

I think I've expressed the view before Anthony that it has little to do with cowardice.  The two Labour "factions" (deliberate over-simplification to emphasise a point) need each other to form a majority on Hounslow Council.  Without the other neither is powerful enough on its own.  Simples.

Totally agree. It matters not what your political colours are. These people have no place in public office or politics.Just as guilty are those who no what is going on and yet do nothing and those cowards who side with them and ride the gravy train.Labour need to get tough and kick these people out instead of being utter cowards frightened of being branded racists. The Tories and lib Dems also need to get a grip.It needs to be clear and loud that this endless corruption by a few dynasty type families and bullies is no longer welcome or tolerated.It's not racist, it's about honesty, trust and integrity and almost all of us regardless of race or culture want that to be the clear and solid pillars of our society.

They all need to go, this bad publicity is not doing Hounslow any good. Where are the national papers when you need them to expose curruption? Where is the Ombudsman? Where are the elected MPs who should be getting to the heart of the matter? Where is the opposition??
