And now for something nice!
Travelling home on the crowded underground yesterday, I was offered a seat by a kind young man. Now wasn't that nice? He was an American bussinessman going home to New York via Heathrow and we got to talking about Britain and the British. He said, amongst other things, that he like the Brits so much because we could laugh at ourselves just like New Yorkers. I agreed with him that humour was a most important thing anyone could have. He made my day and we parted friends, especially as he kept calling me SIR!! ;-))
