DOESN'T TIME FLY. (UNLIKE OTHER THINGS)

Just watched a report on BBC news, it was 10 years ago today that the last Concorde made its final flight into Heathrow. What a great bit of British engineering which is sadly missed. Seems like yesterday when we all used to look up into the sky every time it flew over.

That was the occasion 10 years ago today Jim when the last 3 flew into Heathrow one after the other. Got some photos somewhere of that Concorde you mentioned on the back of a low loader being transferred onto a barge by the London Apprentice one Sunday morning. There is still one indeed on the runway at the Hatton Cross end of the airport which you can see from the Great South West Rd.

There was another final occasion when three Concordes arrived in convoy.. passing over Brentford on their way to the northern runway for a BA celebration.Then some years later a lonely Concorde came down the Great West Road on roller skates... turned right at Gillette Corner..and eased down Spur Road towards the London Apprentice..where it skated onto that huge barge en route to a Scottish Museum.Yes time does time. We'll be telling our grandchildren.. We saw Concorde.Actually one is still parked at Heathrow..or was 2 months ago.
