Remembrance Day in Chiswick  - Sunday 10th November

Councillor Peter Thompson, a former Leader of Hounslow Council, representatives of the Royal British Legion and other local organisations  will attend a wreath laying ceremony at the Chiswick War Memorial on Turnham Green at 10:30am, followed by the Annual Remembrance Service at Christ Church, Turnham Green, on Sunday 10th November.All welcome

The year before last only my husband and I were at the Borough Road Memorial.  Last year a man had a small child with him of about 5 or so.  After the minutes silence - where we all guessed at the time from co-ordinating mobiles, we gave the young girl our poppies to 'plant' in the top of the pot plants provided to decorate each memorial.If your poppy is spare at your service tomorrow - how about giving it to a child to do the same?

Is David trying to embarrass Peter Thompson, the Conservative Leader who steadfastly campaigned during his 4 years leading Hounslow Council to enable Brentford to move to Lionel Road? I hope Mr Giles, whose fellow countrymen kept the lights on in Dublin in WW2 to assist the Luftwaffe in their bombing raids on Liverpool, is not going to use Remembrance Sunday to demonstrate against his party leader.

No disrespect, but why would we want to go to Chiswick when we have our own ceremony in Brentford?
