JimIt is being used to promote a councillor but the activity itself seems to be an exciting and well thought-out community event which I believe was originally conceived by an enterprising group of mothers from Isleworth. There are lots of great activities being offered and if it turns out to be half as good as it promises to be then it will prove a wonderful addition to the Isleworth calendar and I wish it and its organisers every success.Of course fun activities such as these need to be additional to, not instead of, positive community action to protect the character, infrastructure and fabric of our community, and when the party's over there will still be a Public Hall to save, libraries to keep open and the all-pervading stench of Mogden still to tackle. I would hope to see events such as next Saturday's act as an invaluable rallying point for the community in its ongoing struggles rather than as the panem et circenses distraction that I'm sure some of our councillors would prefer it to be.
