Hiring a trio of musicians.

I'd like to hire a trio of musicians and I'd appreciate info on where to go to make a booking. Live background music is required for a reception - keyboard, guitarist and violin(or similar), evening for 3 hours, middle of the road popular music, venue in Ealing on a Saturday or Sunday in mid-February. I've no experience of hiring musicians - could someone give me guidance and information please and where to start my search? Perhaps there's such a trio in Brentford?? Thanks. ;-o

GARETH, kind of you to suggest this possibility. I am now in contact with PETE JOHNSON(QPR's music buyer) and i think I'm now fixed with a suitable trio. Also thanks to others for their advice.  ;-)

Gerry I was in Twickenham this afternoon, Richmond Youth Orchestra were playing outside Waitrose. They were very good; you might want to approach them or a local youth orchestra in Ealing if indeed one exists in Ealing.

Jim,I wasn`t up for "auditioning"! The only singing I do is at Griffin Park ;-)However we organise live music every week so have a long list of contacts and top quality musicians/bands which i`ll be happy to pass on.

Gerry: Without upstaging the applicants who have applied for "auditions" already!..you may wish to check out the following..1) The Guildhall School of Music students ...and students at other Colleges scatter themselves around in small groups to perform as trio at various functions and can be a revelation!  I attended a City function Tuesday...and they performed from the Gallery of the Saddlers Hall!!2) Does Ealing has a Symphony Orchestra?...with trios a plenty?3) Good advice is to go to see applicants play somewhere..maybe before Xmas.3)
