More dealings done behind closed doors

According to the latest LBofH Forward Plan,Hounslow Council is proposing to give, without consultation, a 125 year lease of IPH land to the Blue School - The Blue School already have a short lease. As the land belongs to the Vestry Hall and Reading Room Trust, not LBofH, and this is tantamount to "selling the land", the Trust, i.e. LBofH as Trustee must surely need permission from the Charity Commission permission or they will be in breach of their duty?

This whole thing smells very badly indeed.  I have nothing against the Blue School, however it and the local authority would seem to be engaged together in a war of attrition with the Isleworth Society and other community groups aligned around the Friends of Isleworth Public Hall.Is it a coincidence that one moment the school withdraws its bid to manage the Hall following a local backlash and the threat of the issue dragging on to the elections, and the next this happens behind the backs, typically, of the local community?As for our councillors, if want to know where they stand Vanessa just keep an eye on the letters' page of the Hounslow Chronicle.  You must know their writing styles well enough to be able to spot a sock puppet when you see one.

Damned if I understand what they're doing either, they do not seem to have a feel for the smaller things that are important to people here. The IPH, the Memorial that bloody roundabout just to name three! Well, they will only have themselves to blame if they find that they are 'ex' next year won't they?

" what is wrong with our local councillors????"I am sure our local councillors do many great things for the local area Vanessa but I for one honestly never hear about them unless it is on a glossy poster and that only highlights one of them for any event that takes placeI know I am perhaps biased but for the life of me I simply cannot understand why they do not actually fight for the things that we as Isleworth residents feel are the important issues

The bloody Blue School were always after that bit of land, and I can well remember the rows we had trying to stop them getting their hands on it. It's bad enough with what they've got and I can't see any reason for letting them have a long lease like that, tantamount as you rightly observe to virtually selling it, what is wrong with our local councillors????
