"Hammersmith and Hounslow Tramways" Robt.J.Harley

Jim,You commented on this book recently, so I ordered a copy from Transport Diversions on 5th December:  my copy arrived today -  10th December!How's that for prompt delivery?  Amazon Books eat your heart out..Amazon Books take weeks; I am still awaiting one ordered in August, but to date  only loads of apologies and emails.   They have so far not delivered a book to me in earlier than eight weeks!

Glad to see that you purchased the Tram Book Ann..I'm really quite excited by all those pictures of bygone days.Pictures 34 to 45 show scemes at Kew Bridge...and Picture 36 shows those coal merchants in the backgound!Picture 73 shows an old electric tram passing Busch Corner..an you will recall that several months ago we were taking photos of Concorde passing the same spot!!Pictures 76 and 77 show the Tram Depot on the London Road, Isleworth. In the 30's? it was converted into a trolleybus Depot...with the building extended at the front towards the Road. It had a turntable built at the far end of the building.  Later it became a Garage for Royal Mail vans..and for the past 8 years..it has been one of those Self-Storage Depots...and my big red vans frequent the place!So, the building in parts is 100 years old..the the Depot Manager will be intrigue with the book when I show him.Ann: do you have some favourite pictures ..in the book?

I guess it depends on the people who have the books , rather than Amazon themselves, who is many instances act merely as brokers, but there are opportunities to post your critique of each supplier.Personally I've had excellent service, nothing has taken longer than about 10 days, even posted from the States.
