But you have conveniently ignored my comment about why the councillors, if they thought we were insincere, did not call our bluff. Indeed they did the opposite, going immediately onto the attack in a bizarre and extraordinary way against an opponent they had already defeated. There is no other possible explanation for this odd behaviour other than that they wanted to make it clear to us that they didn't want our support. Indeed I seem to recall yourself and a certain other former user of this forum insisting "Why should they work with you?".Obviously to court opposition in this way when it has the potential to cause an upset entitles them to a certain amount of respect - clearly they have stuck to their principles, whatever they may be. But let us not attempt to rewrite history when it is as well documented as this particular episode. The Internet is a wonderful resource when the record is challenged.
