Police called in over Hounslow Homes fraud investigation

Nearly 6 months after the story broke of a fraud investigation at Hounslow Homes the Chronicle reports that police have been called in.Why was this not done right at the start? I don't know the facts. However, what I am certain of is that if any crimes have been committed the failure to call in police months ago has possibly allowed anyone who may have done anything dishonest to make sure that any evidence that could be concealed has already been so.Serious questions need to asked about the judgement of the board of Hounslow Homes and of Hounslow Council's Cabinet in failing to call in  the police much earlier.

Now might be the time to re-examine the way in which the Board is composed.  In my view there are too many politicians with a vested interest in not rocking the boat in situations such as this, and possibly also too many unelected "experts" appointed, in part at least, by those very same politicians.Surely after all these years we should be moving towards a Board over which tenants and leaseholders themselves have more control?
