First of all thanks to Paul for initiating this Forum thread and publishing those links to maps of Brentford Town and more. Thanks also to Neil for that information about the three pubs alongside St George's Church. One had visions of them being a bit out of place alongside that place of worship! So, that map showed 1) The Marquis of Granby (1809-1901)..2) The Hand and Flower. 3) The Fox and Hounds. The local historian Gillian Clegg (RIP) mentioned all three alcoholic premises in her book "Brentford and Chiswick Pubs" ISBN 0-7524-3723-2 and she, several times, kindly gave me permission to use images from her books when posting on the Forums. Here is a picture of the Marquis of Granby.."sandwiched" between the Church (without it's Tower..at that time)and a shop advertising Zebra Polish. It's all different now!
