Cool to be Warm...

Is anyone else sick of hearing people,mostly kids and teenagers, saying things are 'cool'. Surely,it's more altruistic, humane and 'cool'to be warm toward others and to things in general.I know I'm just being an early middle aged git on this,but it's my language too...

As been some 38 degs C in Melbourne today , I am sitting in my Air conditioned lounge , and think I can claim to be a real cool dude , that is a real cool geriatric old Git of a Pommy Dude, should the power go off I will quickly become  a real warm miserable  Pommy geriatric old Git, think being cool is better

As a child, I once prodded a working electric bar heater with an item of cutlery. I was very warm as a result but it wasn't a very cool thing to do. Cool = swimming pools + drinks in my language?
