When do we become middle aged old gits?

There is a turning point in all our lives when instead of laughing or ignoring some of lifes circumstances we start to moan and whinge about them.Poor service when attempting to spend my hard earned cash is one of my gripes and i think i stopped putting up with it about 10 years ago when i was about 30 which i guess is my cross over time but what about the others on this forum?When did you start to be looked upon as a moaning old git?

I also think that as we become older we don't care what other people think, we should complain more about poor services and whenever what we pay for doesn't live up to expectations. However, in defence of us more mature bods - I would like to say I have a nearly 25 year old in my house who could out-moan Victor any day of the week! It's all about attitude of mind - is your glass half full or half empty?

It's partly that as you grow older,you feel somehow more 'entitled'to complain and less worried about hurting someone else's feelings. It's ironic that all the institutions and organisations we moan about(hospitals,railways,schools),are run by people from our generation.....

I think I was born a moaner.  Bad service, badly made goods, rude and ignorant people, high prices, etc., etc., are things I think I have always been very vociferous about.  I can remember when the very first One Foot in the Grave was shown and I was practically crying with laughter mainly because I agreed with everything that annoyed Victor.  I imagine that's why the programme was such a success I am sure many people can identify with him.  However my moaning usually appears to entertain people and those that know me expect to be entertained.Incidentally I have found that complaining about poor food and service etc, can actually pay off so maybe we should all moan a lot more.

PAUL F, I became a SMOG(stupid and moaning old git) when our children became teenagers some 25+ years ago. I moaned at them a lot and they called me a SMOG! Now their children are approaching the age when they think THEIR parents are SMOGs.I think one becomes a SMOG at around the 70s, so at 72 years of age, I'm well into SMOGGERY!:-(
