Gongs in BRENTFORD?

Happy New Year fellow posers.Another variation on PC Vanessa.'The day PC meant Perfectly Confused'"A technical helpline for owners of new computers was flooded with more than 25,000 calls over Christmas.  PC service call, which handles queries from customers of Dixon’s, Curry's, PC World and The Link, said it received an average call every 21 seconds on Boxing day.  Most related to cables - mainly with the device not being properly plugged in.  Others were about power supply, software installation and a failure to find the 'on' switch."...do you think they could tell me where the 'off' switch is?

Yes, I have nominated someone - it's quite difficult and it does help if you can get an M.P. to support the nomination. By the way Bob Kerslake former Chief Exec. of Hounslow Council and now in Sheffield has also been knighted, he was one of the best Chief Officers Hounslow has ever had and a thoroughly nice person, but oh how I am fuming over that other one!

I read this after I had posted on the new year thread...Of all the gongs they give out - what made somebody think this was the appropriate one for him?  Do the people doing the decisions for this have a sense of humour?  I LOL as I was thinking - Crumbs! maybe he needed a Bath?Has anyone on the forum nominated somebody from the community for an award?  Is it easy?  Do they get 'over subscribed'?

I don't know - but my sense of absolute disgust reached an all time high this morning on learning that the Chief Executive of the Child Support Agency has been made a Sir, he has been given the order of the Bath! Several wags have said it should be the Order of the Early Bath and as for the CB he can now put after his name, that in many people's view stands for complete b*****s. After the mauling from the select committee and his complete and abject failure  to sort things out he gets rewarded, what does it take to be penalised for cocking things up???? The whole rotten system should be scrapped, this sort of thing degrades the many people who deserve recognition for the difference they make to other's lives and to the country as a whole, often without payment or thanks.
