Scrap 'on demand' postal voting to curb fraud, says judge
Labour seems to be opposing this and judging from some of the people they use on these forums and in the local arena it's not difficult to understand why.But surely it is wrong that voters should be punished for the unscrupulous behaviour of what is probably a small minority of activists?Would a better solution not be to actually train and educate ordinary policemen and women in the intricacies of election law and to impress upon them the importance of implementing it rigidly? My view from experience is that although such legislation exists those who would flout it can do so more or less with impunity because those entrusted with enforcing it lack the specialist knowledge to even recognise a crime when it is being committed.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26520836
