Macleod and Pickles visits Brentford but lunches in Chiswick

I wonder why she took Eric Pickles (the man who has just sold over 60 allotment sites off for redevelopment by the way) to Chiswick for lunch and not stay in Brentford as she was visiting Cultivate London.  I would have thought La Rosetta would have been perfect, the pizza's are great!

Isn't this all abit silly again ? - at the end of the day as John correctly says both the MP and Eric Pickles had been invited by the Chamber of Commerce (presumably a non-political organisation) to attend lunch at Sams at Chiswick.It's not like they had any say in where they went for lunch - they couldn't exactly say "hey, sod those people and the venue where we've booked lunch, why don't just the two of us go somewhere here instead".  If they'd not even set foot in Brentford then some people would be suggesting that they purposely didn't visit the town etc.

Perhaps the Hounslow Chamber of Commerce is also unaware of any eateries in Brentford? Or possibly Chiswick makes for a better photoshoot for the Tories. God knows what undesireable sights may be lurking in the background in Brentford

The Hounslow Chamber of Commerce could have taken them to The Thames Restaurant in Brentford where you can eat as much as you like for £6.95 (for the lunch).

Exactly.  And a term often used by people who consider themselves to be our betters, as demonstrated by your automatic assumption that as a working-class Isleworthian I didn't know what it meant.Not the type of people Chiswick Tories would want to be associating with, in other words, unless they were after their votes.
