Heath House out, carbuncle in?

Looks like poor old Heath House opposite Isleworth Fire Station is to bite the dust. Most recently used by West Thames College, the barriers and demolition signs are up. I have a horrible suspicion that the site is heading for a planning application of a 10 storey plus tower block, seeing as that is what developers want at Hounslow East, and the council is supporting them in that. Technically a developer would be able to convert the building using the new 'prior approval' system without planning permission, so to bother to knock it down and start again must mean they think they can get a lot more units there.

At least the asbestos inside was removed a few years before it passed to the college, at least the office workers were told so.  Otherwise it would be a shame to start with tower blocks above all those low level family houses, but hey! Who cares about families?  The rear backing on to the houses was left low level because of the housing, I understand.
