I'm sure the signage for Chapel Lane where it joins the access to the Travelodge car park (and then runs through the middle of Holland Gardens) includes reference to it being a public footpath, and there's no kind of gate or barrier whatsoever, just two bollards to prevent vehicles getting through.I couldn't disagree with Jim that from the main entrance off the A315 there's definitely an aura of "keep out".  Personally I don't see that as a bad thing necessarily, as many people choose to live in places like HG because of the increased security, in terms of CCTV, a 24h concierge etc.Where I live I look directly out onto the main entrance and I witness a fair amount of anti-social behaviour, such as men urinating at the bottom of the car park ramp to the affordable housing block (which is on the A315 side of the gates in Jim's photos), people parking inconsiderately and blocking/hindering access etc, so if the gate wasn't there those problems would occur all over the development. As for delivering leaflets, I still get political flyers, pizza delivery leaflets etc. in my post box.  Quite how they get there I'm not sure, as presumably they don't arrive by post and I don't think our concierges put such leaflets in everyone's letter box.  Equally, as vehicle and pedestrian access to the car parks is only by fob, it would make a mockery of the security aspects of the whole development if anyone could wander into the car parks and distribute leaflets in letterboxes.  And certainly not to have people wandering around putting leaflets under people's doors, that did happen once due to a mistake on the part of a concerige, and as I happened to see the leaflet arrive under my door I politely escorted the guy off the premises.
