Why has the gate near the bus terminus at the back of Morrisons been padlocked shut?

I have to put my hand up here as I complained when I saw that the gate was being left open and children were running in and out of it.I have to say that it beggars belief that parents, mainly mums happily sit there smoking, glued to their phones letting their charges play whilst being so casual about gate being left open. Even worse, those few who bring the family dog in and let it roam about the playground.These brainless morons seem to have one thing in common when it comes to politely reminding them of the rules. They always have huge gobs on them and have a wide vocabulary range in expletives.I suspect that they will also be screaming murder to the council when a fatality does occur but they could do a lot themselves like close the gate and report the faulty one.That said, it is a disgrace that it has not been fixed in 2 years and the best they can manage is to chain the gate closed.Yet again, a poor contract entered into by Hounslow

The gate is locked because a child was recently chased by a dog loose in the kids playground out into the path of a bus. Fortunately, the driver stopped in time.I understand from a local parent that the self closing gate has been faulty for over two years and has been reported several times.The parks contractors seem completely unable to repair it but did manage to remove two identical gates last summer and use to components elsewhere.

You could phone the Council to ask although how long it would take you to get through is another matter.
