I would hope that, if she is re-elected, Sue will do something to make good this shambles, maybe by having a proper ceremony to which all the groups who should be involved are invited rather than it remaining the sole preserve of her own little group of friends, flatterers, groupies and hangers-on, which sadly has always been the Labour way in these parts.I think we will have to live with the fact that her name features obtrusively on what is supposed after all to be a commemoration of our war dead as it would be inappropriate to alter something that means so much to so many people, and if she has done the work she claims to have done in bringing this project to fruition then I would not deny her some recognition of that fact, albeit it could have been more subtle and less obviously done with the election in mind.Maybe by introducing something supplementary on which the names of the war dead could be listed, as has been suggested, a better sense of proportion could be achieved?
