The IBAF minutes referred to earlier :61. Open ForumProposal for a war memorial plaque in Isleworth:Members received an update on the proposal to provide a war memorial plaque in Isleworth tocommemorate all those local residents who had lost their lives in the bombings during the war.Members were supportive of this proposal, which would be funded from the CommunityEngagement budget allocation.A boroughwide programme to identify all memorials and arrange a ‘deep clean’ was already inthe pipeline. Further suggestions for community engagement activities relating to thecentenary commemorations of the war were welcomed.seem to indicate that the topic had been discussed previously. The minutes don't record who provided the update in this "Open Forum" section at the end of the meeting. I have failed to find an earlier reference but there was an item on the future of the Area Forum at a meeting on 30th October 2012. This has a slide presentation which included :" IBAF Community ParticipationDeveloping a new set of Area Forum priorities•There is a need to develop a new list of Area Forum priorities•Subject to a public consultation via e-survey?•IBAF has also been allocated a £5k pot for a ‘special project’ this year. Could be to:–improve community engagement–or potentially to help facilitate achievement of one of our priorities, following public consultation on them "and the minutes recorded :"Councillor Harmer drew attention to the £5,000 available for community engagement purposes. He referenced the special project undertaken by this Area Forum in recent years to move the St Lawrence War Memorial to its current location. It was suggested that the funding should be used towards a ‘legacy’ project rather than on one-off community events."
