Clamping on private land after 5 tickets

Hi there,since clamping on private land was banned I have seen selfish car drivers abusing the system collecting up to 80 tickets for the same violation. They now think they can park anywhere they want and don't pay the fine. Credit score is not a problem as they will never ask for a mortgage or a phone contract because the Council will be always there for them providing a nice flat and pocket money for a pay as you go phone.Don't you think that - in case the same offender has collected 5 tickets for the same violation - there should be in place a way to clamp the car? so to force a payment and teach these people to respect the rules?I understand why the Government decided to ban it but it's now becoming a joke and too many selfish drivers are abusing the system and nothing can be done to stop them. If the system was unfair before it is now again unfair and discriminating law obeying drivers.Happy to read your thoughts and suggestions how to bring this request forward.Thanks for reading.

Here's the link to the law that governs this:http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/schedule/4/enactedTickets need to be issued in accordance with it, but if fines are not paid then you would have to take the offender to court for their recovery.

Yes, but Sarah you are missing the point, it's their land to put gates on. This  other matter would be the responsibility of the landlord.

RyanI live in a flat and the land I talk about is a big private car park and the area outside the block where temporary parking is allowed to contractors, delivery, maintenance trucks, disable pick ups, children drop off.It is pretty much impossible to stop specific cars accessing the area and park. The Councillors hands are tied.Any suggestions?

Parking tickets are enforceable under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 - you just need to make sure the tickets you issue comply with it.Clamping should not be allowed for anybody, not even the government.If you are that bothered about people parking on your land then why not install measures that prevent them from doing it in the first place?

You mate are talking absolute nonsense about the council providing flats and phones - I have never heard such nasty and stupid comments. And all because you've got the hump about something.

I absolutely agree with you.It was unfair before and it is unfair now.A balance needs to be put in place to be fair to both sides.
