Is Hounslow Council to webcast Election Count?

No doubt Ward results will be reported on the Hounslow Council website during the late evening and night... but does anyone know if there will be a live screening of the happenings?

Confused.comThe counting did start on the Thursday evening, went on from 9pm until 5am the next morning, I worked alongside a woman who worked it when we were doing the joyous european count on Sunday afternoon... Missing the only good weather day of the bank holiday weekend...

Well I had to queue at my polling station in Brentford this evening, first time ever from memory and the staff said there was a good turnout, as evidenced by the crossed out lines of voters on the printed sheets as the clerk searched through the bundle looking for my address..... Not sure what a 'good turnout' hints for local or European results but do hope its not the fruitcake vote.....

I believe the police were called twice to the Ivybridge Polling Station early this morning and the Worton Estate Polling Station was closed for a short while due to a fight between two women!!

I gather from the roving Police team  that there was some kind of minor problem at the Summerwood Estate....  opposing Groups rowing about people canvassing too close to a Polling Station. Any more news?What else would one expect on the Isleworth Ward battleground.

Whilst the political people are running around trying to make up lies or put forward candidates who are off to university, the local poll station thought they had around a 17% turn out a short while ago.

Just been to that Council twitter feed.. in outer cyberspace... and read that the counting of votes doesn't start till 10 am Friday morning at the Civic Centre.How boring... no late night excitement as in previous years...it's all being dumbed down... So no excuse to stay up tonight... and hear sensational news from Syon or Heston West!  And get on with the chores tomorrow Friday after a dull Thursday evening.

No no Adam, it's not the boring counting and checking and reounting one wants to observe..but the excitement surrounding the results as they are announced.I mean the storming off the platform, the smirks by the dodgy brigades and the general reactions all round.Some years back the event was webcast and we were able to produce the results on these Forums before the Council Website was updated..and also observe the goings on. I now don't think it's being TV'd this time.Hope you got well paid..especially for that night that went on till 5.30am! This is a picture from the last Euro Election.

Well given the amount of juvenile sniping, goading and attempts at point scoring that we read on these forums around election time, it's hardly surprising is it if tempers get a little frayed when the results are announced ?!.Although I'll admit that if some of the candidates decide to have a wrestling match or such like it would make for the most entertaining part of the results process...but sadly even if that did happen (which is highly unlikely) it isn't going to be caught on a single webcam is it ?!.

Oh Jim, that's probably the 'saddest' post I've seen in here in a long time...Having been present at election counts on several occasions (being one of the counters) I cannot think of much less exciting then televising a local election count - for 95% of the time the camera would just show a group of random people sat around a big desk counting bits of paper.Even the 5% of the time when results are being declared it's not going to be a particularly 'exciting' spectacle akin to Mellor's defeat in 1997 or such like.I sincerely hope the 'happenings' at the Civic won't be televised, if you really want/need to know couldn't you just go to the Civic yourself ?.
