All Dogs Matter

I'm on the begging podium again - Alldogsmatter.co.uk - we are desperate for any donated items food, bedding etc - we are absolutely full up with dogs and getting daily lists from the pound trying to juggle them between rescues - most of the rescues are full to bursting point and sadly it's not ending happily for far too many - if you do have space in your home and you do have the time please would you consider with fostering or adopting a dog. Fostering you receive food, bedding, toys, collars etc full vet back up and advise 24/7. If you can help in any way every little helps I can assure you x

That's all very well but what the difficulty is is the enforcement of ensuring all dogs are licensed, who would do that? While idiots don't get their dogs spayed/neutered anyone can land up with puppies they don't want, who probably are sold on to yet another idiot. It would need pretty draconian legislation, the police wouldn't be interested as it would probably be civil law and the RSPCA couldn't cope. So we'd need proper animal police with real power, that would cost money, do you see any government funding that? I think this applies to all animals, it never ceases to disgust me the way some people neglect and mistreat them.

Its all too easy for irresponsible people to get dogs. What we should all do is petition for the return of dog licences and registration of all dogs. I am sure that true dog lovers would    willingly pay an an annual licence fee and this should reduce the number of dogs finding themselves in these dog refuge units.

Good luck Victoria. We foster for a different rescue but I can confirm that it is a great thing to do from the dog's perspective as well as the fosterer's, and it really helps the rescue shuffle their endless influx of unlucky animals.
