I think Sarah's idea is brilliant.  There are plenty of people who would be better off staying in their own home in their own locality who just need some alterations to allow it to happen.There could/should be more help to allow this to happen.This could also include help when it is a purpose built flat with a bog standard lease determining the extent of the leasehold area - floor to ceiling - when what is needed is a wet room/level shower area.We are an aging population and still build silly buildings with doors that you can't get a wheelchair through and walls that you can't attach a grab rail to.Another aspect is the number of buildings that the elderly and disabled can no longer access.It would be really good to see a list of buildings that people in a particular area used to visit but find that they can no longer access due to their lost mobility.  There is a Disability Discrimination Act but there are still many building inaccessible.  It would be good to see ideas on how solutions could be found.  Sometimes it just needs some brainstorming.

How about a program about builders who never turn up.Or builders who never properly finish a jobNot rogues but the norm for most builders who are always trying to balance too much, too often.

Hello.  If you don't mind me saying the type of programe you are talking about has been done to death all over the main TV chanels and the repeating channels.Also, if you would like an idea for a twist to these programmes then there is a need for home improvements by adaption to houses because of old age or disability to help people stay in their homes with true dignity.  There is a maze of forms, ideas, assessments, grants and plain common sense in making adaptions.A neighbour recently had to start living on one level, downstairs, and the information available as to how his son should adapt, or could adapt the house to suit him was very difficult to obtain.  The end result was a front room changed into a bedroom with wet room in the corner, and from comments made by visitors to the house (NHS people and carers) it is the best they have seen because often the person is coping with a commode and a bucket and flannel.If you wish to see the adaptions to discuss the idea, let me know as I am sure the son who did the work would be happy to explain how it all came together.
