Bears at the Pavilion has opened in Hammersmith
Bears at the Pavilion on Brook Green
Bears at the Pavilion, a new branch of the popular Shepherd’s Bush ice cream parlour, has opened on Brook Green in Hammersmith.
The new kiosk was originally going to open in March but lockdown delayed things. After sitting tight and waiting for the right moment, having a social distancing and staff safety plan in place, the owners are confident they can now open safely.
Bears at the Pavilion will be run by an English/Icelandic couple, Phil Harrison and Vera Thordardottir, the people behind Bears Ice Cream Company. They already run Bears Parlour the Icelandic soft serve shop opposite Ravenscourt Park on Goldhawk Road.
Founded in 2016, the shop and brand has attracted locals and travellers alike. Long queues can be regularly seen outside the store. Toppings can be dipped, rolled or smashed into a Jersey milk based ice cream, allowing you to create combinations of flavours and textures.
Phil, former Head Chef of The Anglesea Arms, a gastropub in Brackenbury Village, started churning his own ice creams & sorbets in small batches, which resulted in the launch of Bears Scoop Club in 2019, an online ice cream delivery service of ice cream tubs to local postcodes.
From Salted Pumpkin Seed Nougat ice cream to Blueberry, Lavender Jam Meringue Swirl, Phil says his mission is to surprise and excite the ice cream lover who dares to go off-piste but also appreciates the more classic flavours and he is thrilled to be taking Bears to the pavilion at Brook Green.
Bears at the Pavilion say they will work with local suppliers, and Scotties Coffee, ethically sourced and locally roasted, is also on the menu.
They are also looking forward to working in close partnership with the charity Friends of Brook Green to further support the regeneration of Brook Green.
"We are beyond excited to open Bears at the Pavilion and make it a great community hub for young and old with delicious ice creams and high quality savoury options. We also know that our current customers in the area will be thrilled to see us here," says Phil.
