Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre is doing Christmas a different way this year with a festive market, over 80 shops to explore and an alternative Santa’s grotto...

Finally, Santa arrived at the Centre on Saturday 30th November but this year his sleigh had broken down!

Centre Manager, Stuart Hill says ‘We have kept the local community in mind with the launch of
Christmas this year. Not only is this the first year we have had a grotto at the centre but this one is something the people of Ealing will have never seen anywhere before! ’

This year the market is run by Market Square Group and will feature hot food and drink and over a dozen unique gift stalls. The contemporary design of the market and its decoration will bring Town Square to life for the duration of the Christmas period. Additionally, there will be one stall with a rotating calendar of local artists, crafts people and traders. The market will be open every day until Christmas Eve following the same opening hours as the centre. The Market Square Group’s Paul Kennedy said: “We are delighted to have been asked to provide this exciting and magical event and are very much looking forward to bringing our popular festive village to Ealing.”

Underpinning the entire season is the Ealing branch of Marie Curie Cancer Care, Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre’s chosen charity, who will be offering a gift wrapping service from Wednesday 18th December until Sunday 22nd December. The charity raises funds to support its network of 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses who provide end-of-life care, totally free for terminally ill patients in their own homes. Chairman, Chris Elliott says “Wrapping Christmas presents is often a hassle for people, our volunteers are happy to provide this service for the shoppers at the Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre but we will also raise valuable funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.”
