Fundraising Event For Much Loved Local Lady Known As Jany The Cat
Please help support a fundraising event for local lady Jany Darling on Saturday 15th July from 2pm til late at the Express Tavern on Kew Bridge Road.
Jany is a well loved local character - known simply as Jany the Cat - who has lived in Brentford for 20 years. She's a familiar sight out and about on her daily constitutionals during which she always makes time for a chat, a catch-up and lots of laughter. Unfortunately this is becoming increasingly difficult as she is now suffering from the advanced stages of dementia and motor neurone disease. As a result a few of us - her friends and local businesses she has supported over the years - have decided to get together and give her a much needed helping hand. To celebrate Jany's life (and birthday!) we're holding a fantastic Hog Roast BBQ with music and (hopefully) much fun and summer sunshine with all proceeds from the event going to help support her increasing care costs. There will also be a prize draw with some terrific prizes including £100 cash from A4 Cars; Free dinners from the Strand Thai Cafe/Bulls Head/City Barge, Bell & Crown, Annies; a Steam Museum Family entrance Ticket, Vouchers from Elis Hairderesser and Hammond's Butchers & Deli. In fact that's just a few of the gifts donated by local businesses which gives some indication of the esteem Jany is held in.
So please let everyone know they're welcome - not only will they have a Meow-nificent time but they'll support a thoroughly deserving local cause.
