Penalties Serve Brentford Well Again

Swindon Town 1 - Brentford 1 (penalties 2-4) in the JPT

Brentford bounced back from their Carling Cup penaty defeat to Swindon last night, winning via a penalty shoot out.

Swindon had taken the lead early in the game through dangerman Charlie Austin, but Robbie Simpson equalised with a header for The Bees before half time.

Simpson also hit the deciding penalty as Brentford won 4-2 - Kev, Charlie and Spillane also scoring (and Craig Woodman having his effort saved). Swindon had kindly missed the target with two of their efforts from the spot.

In truth it was another patchy performance from the Bees, Richard Lee did well in goal again and Sam Saunders - in a rare start - looked decent at times. Woody, Kev and Simmo were probably our star men on the night overall.

Bees - Lee, Spilliane, Balkestein, Legge, Woodman, Saunders (Weston 77), Kev, Dave, Wood, Forster (Mac 77), Simpson.

With thanks to beesotted for their match report
