Three cars in Valentine's Day collision which closed North Circular

Three cars were involved in a collision on Gunnersbury Avenue near the junction of Popes Lane on Sunday evening (February 14).

One of the cars was an unmarked police car but it is not known whether it was involved in a chase at the time of the crash but no arrests were made.

There were two people in each of the cars involved and they were all treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The incident, which occurred shortly after 6pm, led to the closure of the North Circular in both directions between Chiswick Roundabout and Popes Lane for over three hours causing substantial traffic disruption in the West London area.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command attended the scene and enquiries into the circumstances are underway.
