Local Woman Hit By Train At Turnham Green Station

46 year old from Brentford died at the scene of accident

A local woman has died after being hit by a Piccadilly Line train at Turnham Green Station.

The 46 year old from Brentford, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not yet been named.

British Transport Police said that they were not treating the incident, which happened on Tuesday 17th March, as being suspicious.

Turnham Green Station was closed for almost two hours and Piccadilly Line services suspended as paramedics, fire crews and officers from British Transport attended the scene.

Passengers who were on board the eastbound Piccadilly Line train were escorted from the train and out of the station.

Turnham Green Station reopened at 5.00pm.

The safety record of the station has long been questioned by regular users. It has one of the highest fatality rates for any station on the tube network in recent years.
