Bank Holiday Delays Likely On North Circular Road

Transport for London
(TfL) which is currently replacing the Power Road Bridge which over the
A406 North Circular Road (Gunnersbury Avenue) has advised that it will
be carrying out works on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
They plan to demolish and remove the western section of the existing bridge
over that weekend. These works must be completed while the railway is
not being used. This means they will be working 24 hours a day over the
Bank Holiday weekend while there are no trains running.
The plan is to start
work at 10pm on Friday 25 August and finish by midnight on the
night of Monday 28 August.
TfL say that due to the nature of the demolition works, noise and disruption
is unfortunately unavoidable. There will also be increased vehicle movements
around the site.
"We
will do everything possible to minimise noise and disruption, including
using noise-reducing barriers and water sprays to reduce airborne dust."
The A406 Gunnersbury Avenue will remain open in both directions, but will
be reduced to one lane in each direction during the works. This is to
provide a safety
zone for the bridge demolition. Please allow more time for your journeys.
Bus route 440 serving Stop D (Power Road) may be affected by increased
traffic in the
area near Power Road. Please allow more time for journeys. Live bus service

Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained across the bridge at
all times. Any
temporary changes will be clearly signposted.
