The Specials and Ocean Colour Scene Will Headline Gunnersville in September

Planning Application granted for major festival in Gunnersbury Park

The Specials are to headline Gunnersville

Planning has been approved for a three day music festival planned for Gunnersbury Park this September. Tickets have been on sale for several weeks.

The event, which is being dubbed Gunnersville, is organised by Festival Republic. Acts being featured include The Specials, Ocean Colour Scene, Doves and You Me At Six. Also performing will be the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Deaf Havana, Sundara Karma and General Roots.

The stage area will be on the south eastern are of the park which was formerly a cricket pitch. The estimated attendance each day is estimated to be 12,000.

There will be three performance evenings from 6-8 September. The application was for further events on the subsequent weekend but this has been withdrawn.

Mr Richardson of the Gunnersbury Drive Residents’ Association expressed concern at the hearing about the impact on local residents and the decision to grant this licence in perpetuity.

The licence allows for this music festival to be repeated annually on any two consecutive three-day periods (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) between 1st September and 30th September in any calendar year, with future dates for each year to be agreed at least 6 months in advance of the date of the event with the licensing authority.

The hire of the park will go to Gunnersbury Estate CIC, the Community Interest Company that manages the estate.
