The Society's talks usually take place on the third Monday of the month. We meet at the Chiswick Memorial Club, Afton House, Bourne Place, Chiswick W4, starting at 7.30pm. Remember that Afton House does not open until 7pm.

The Chaloner Monument at Chiswick: Commemoration & Society in post-Reformation England, a Friends of St Nicholas lecture by Dr Nigel Llewellyn, Head of Research at Tate Britain. The monument in the church commemorates Sir Thomas Chaloner (d 1615) and his wife and is one of West London’s most important Jacobean monuments. Nigel Llewellyn is known for his research on death and commemoration and his book Funeral Monuments in post-Reformation England
