When Does Spending A Penny Cost Twenty?

When you answer a call of nature in Richmond Park

From 23 March, 2015, you will need to have 20p on you to use the loos in Richmond Park. Royal Parks say this in response to cuts in funding from central government.

Work is already underway to install change machines and access gates in the following facilities:

Kingston Gate
Ham Gate
Richmond Gate
Robin Hood Gate
Sheen Gate

You will still be able to use the facilities at Isabella Plantation, Petersham Playground and Roehampton Gate free of charge. A spokesperson for The Royal Parks confirmed that the toilets at Pembroke Lodge are “outside of the contract” which means that they will remain free. Accessible facilities used by people with disabilities will remain free to use.

Royal Parks say they will use the money raised to upkeep the toilet facilities which they might otherwise have had to close.
