Primary Schools Deadline Approaches

Get your applications in before January 15th says Hounslow Council

Parents have only a few days left to apply for a place at one of the borough’s primary schools.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 15 January, and parents are being urged to get their applications in on time.

Cllr Steve Curran, cabinet member for education and housing, said: “Local parents know our primary schools are doing a brilliant job for our children, and demand for places is always high.

“To make sure the process of finding a place for the thousands of children who will be starting school in September runs smoothly, we need to make sure we have all the applications in on time.

“The simplest and quickest way is to do it online before the 15th, but if people want to fill in their application by hand, that’s fine as long as it gets to us on time.

“It’s a simple process, and there’s lots of advice and support available if parents need it.”

Parents of children born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 must apply for a reception place by 15 January 2013.  Parents should apply to their most preferred school using the application forms available at the school.

The application form invites parents to apply for six schools in the borough, in descending order of preference.
