Equalities Road Show at the West Mid

Hospital marks Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week

West Middlesex will be holding a health equalities road show, staff workshops and have a special menu in the hospital restaurant as part of NHS Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Week.

Taking place between 12 and 16 May, the week highlights the on-going work across the NHS to ensure that it continues to meet the diverse needs of local populations and is a place where staff from all backgrounds will want to work.

On Wednesday 14 May the Trust will be holding a health equalities road show in the main hospital atrium between 12.00pm and 2.00pm to raise awareness about health conditions that impact our community.

Staff from various departments including, Sexual Health, Care of the Elderly, Interfaith Services, Cardiology and local volunteers from the Cardiovascular Alliance, the Stroke Association and Diabetes UK will be on hand to speak to staff, visitors and patients.

A hospital spokesperson said, "We believe that improving the working lives of staff goes hand in hand with providing better quality of services for patients. In a series of staff workshops throughout the week, we will be encouraging diversity and equality among staff and discussing how they ensure this is part of everything they do."

Rumbles Restaurant will be putting on a special menu during the week with cuisine from around the world to represent the diverse workforce at West Middlesex courtesy of caterers, ISS.
