Offering glass painting, badge making and embroidery to children aged six to 12
The William Morris Society is running Summer Holiday Workshops for children aged six to 12 throughout August.
The first event, taking place this Saturday 4 August from 11am till 4pm is part of the Annual Children’s Fete at Leighton House, 12 Holland Park Road, W14.
Children at the fete will have the chance to create stained glass bird and flower sun catchers.
This event is free and no booking is necessary - just drop in.
The following workshops are at the William Morris Society, at 26 Upper Mall in Hammersmith.
Wednesday 8 August 1pm – 3.30pm
Painting on glass, 6-12 years £5 per child
A workshop in two parts where you will learn how to decorate glass jars using William Morris’s beautiful designs as inspiration. Book here
Wednesday 15 August 1pm – 3.30pm
Fabric collage Badges and Banners 6-12 years £5 per child
A workshop in two parts based on the theme of badges and banners. Use fabric, wool and ribbon to create a Morris message for a banner in the first session and a badge in the second session. Book here
Wednesday 22 August 10.30am – 1pm
Embroidery on a cloth bag please note 8-12 years £5 per child
William Morris taught himself how to embroider, and his daughter May was a talented embroidery designer. Create and sew your own designs on a cloth bag. We will be using sharp needles. Book here
Please note that children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
