A person has died and two people have been taken to hospital following a serious road traffic collision on Gunnersbury Avenue in the early hours of Thursday morning (20 August).

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said it was called at 12:18am to reports of a collision on the North Circular stretch of Gunnersbury Avenue north of Chiswick Roundabout.

Multiple emergency resources were sent, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast ‑response cars, an incident response officer, and specialist paramedics from the hazardous area response team. A trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance also attended in a rapid response vehicle.

According to the LAS, the first paramedic arrived in under seven minutes.

Crews treated three people at the scene. Two patients were taken to hospital for further care. A third patient was pronounced dead at the scene despite extensive efforts by paramedics and the trauma team.

The North Circular was closed for several hours while emergency services worked and collision investigators examined the scene. The road reopened at 10am.

Police have not yet released further details about the circumstances of the crash.
