Women on Local Buses Targeted for Sexual Assaults

Images of a man police are seeking to identify have been released following a spate of sexual assaults on local buses.
Over ten offences have been reported which detectives believe have been carried out by the same person.
They have taken place between February 2022 to September 2023, predominately in the afternoons and evenings on the bus network around Ealing, Hammersmith, Westminster and Hounslow areas.
In many cases, the suspect or the victims have boarded the bus at Westfield Shepherd’s Bush, Ealing Broadway, or Acton High Street. The suspect targets women, sits next to them on the bus and touches them without speaking. Initially the police said that the attacks were against Muslim women but they have since clarified that non-Muslim women have also been victims.
Detective Sergeant Matthew Brown, of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command, said, “We are aware of social media posts regarding this individual and appreciate the concern that these incidents will cause. We would like to assure the community that we are doing all that we can to identify and locate the suspect.
“While his face is covered in the images, we are hoping that anyone who knows him will recognise him or his clothing and get in touch.
“Similarly, if you believe that you may have been targeted by this man, but have not yet spoken with police, please do get in touch – at the very least so that we can know that you are okay and are being supported.”
