The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH), which manages two hospitals in Ealing borough, is looking for nominations for its annual Staff Excellence Awards.

If you know someone at Ealing Hospital or Central Middlesex hospital who has gone above and beyond helping you, a family member or friend, then you are encouraged to acknowledge their good work.

Pippa Nightingale, CEO of LNWH, said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase the work hospital staff do and would encourage colleagues and the public to support them. The more information you can provide when nominating someone the better and we look forward to beating the record number of applications we received last year. There is a lot of great work going so let’s share and celebrate that.”

The twelve award categories are:

• Divisional awards – one for each of our five clinical divisions
• Support and corporate services award
• Quality and improvement award
• Beryl Carr award for volunteer of the year
• Fundraiser of the year
• Learner of the year
• Team of the year
• Lifetime achievement award

Sandy Young, a critical theatres manager, who won the surgical division award last year, said, “It was a complete surprise to win and a real honour. It is important to cast your vote to show our colleagues that they are valuable and significant to you.”

Nominations are open until Friday 31 May and can be made by anyone, including colleagues, patients, relatives, or representatives of our partner organisations. The Trust also runs Northwick Park Hospital and St Mark’s Hospital.

The winners will be chosen from a panel of judges and will be announced at a special ceremony at Wembley Stadium in October.

Nominate your healthcare hero.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.
