Blooming Gorgeous Across Ealing Borough

Liz Jenner captures displays of wildflowers in Gunnersbury Park and Hanwell

Hanwell's resident photographer, Liz Jenner, has been out and about and on her travels has captured some of the most beautiful wildflower displays.

Gunnersbury Park has been one of the locations and Liz was overwhelmed by these amazing poppies in full bloom. She says, "Situated in the South East corner of Gunnersbury Park is a dazzling display of traditional haymeadow wild flowers and grasses.Silt dredged from the Round pond last year has been seeded with poppies cornflowers and chamomile.

"Upon sight of the meadow I was lost for words and felt like I'd just stepped into a beautiful painting of the French countryside. There were other visitors happily meandouring around chatting and soaking up the atmosphere. Butterflies and bees were plentiful and you simply cannot fail to be totally amazed by the stunning scenery. Incredible to step off the bus on a very busy Popes lane and find something of this quality right on our doorstep in West London. My trusty Nikon D5300 was used to take the photographs. "

At the Katherine Buchan meadow in Hanwell some more delights were on show.
