The Challenge
The aim of the day is to plant box hedging that will spell out the words Boston Manor Park and to plant over 3,000 spring bulbs to further enhance this beautiful park which lies on the borders of  Ealing and Brentford,

Background
In 2010 following some refurbishment work to the car park at Boston Manor Park an area of ground was created that nobody knew what to do with.   “It became a talking point, not in a good way says Linda Massey, Friends of Boston Manor who is taking the lead on this project”

Who is involved
At approximately 11 am, sixty 15 - 16 year olds will be arriving by coach as part of the Challenge.  www.the-challenge.org gives more information on the Challengers. This is their last Challenge of the summer and will certainly be a new experience to them all.

The ground has already been prepared by Community Payback.  London Borough Hounslow and Friends of Boston Manor are providing the plants, bulbs and materials and the grounds maintenance company Continental Landscapes who tend Hounslow’s parks are providing the expertise.

“It takes a lot to keep Boston Manor Park in top shape so all it needs now is for members of the community, friends and family to come along on the day and help with the planting says Linda Massey.

" The Challengers have already made 200 cup cakes that will be given out to the helpers and will be ready to cook more should the need arise” .  Volunteers are asked to register outside the pavilion opposite the children’s play area in Boston Manor Park.
