Brentford Festival 2011

Preparations underway for the Boston Manor Park event in September

The last six months have flown by and it is already time to start planning the Brentford Festival 2011. It will take place this year on 4th September in Boston Manor Park - not to be confused with the London Mela which will take place in Gunnersbury Park on the same date. You may say bad planning but the Mela have had to take into account that Ramadan runs through the whole of August so they have delayed their event by four weeks as this is an Asian festival. We are assured by our local police and support team, including St John’s Ambulance that we can cope so the first Sunday in September as always is the date for The Brentford Festival.

The first planning meeting for the festival will take place on Monday 14th March at 6.30 pm in the Pavilion, Boston Manor Park, Boston Manor Road, Brentford TW8. We are always looking for volunteers to help in the planning and delivering the event on the day so if you are interested in getting involved, in any way, please contact event manager with an expression of interest.

The festival is the perfect opportunity for charities and businesses to showcase themselves at this well attended family event with pitches starting at just £10. Last year the sun shone on over 12,000 people making it a real fun-filled community event. As always there will be live music, stalls, food and refreshments and so much more.

Linda Massey the Event Manager will be keeping EalingToday informed of progress. The festival website will be updated after the first meeting when application forms for pitches will be available to download.
