Stop.
Rewind.
Start again. And this time, make sure it’s perfect.

A perfect family celebrate their perfect mother’s perfect fortieth birthday.

A perfect photo opportunity – or a chance to destroy the image of perfection that they’ve been peddling for years.

Time to choose.

Winner of the prestigious Dutch Taalunie Award for Best Play, BLOWING tells the story of a family imploding under the weight of its own fantasy. Award-winning company fanSHEN (Shooting Rats, Meetings, Full Circle) present a new piece of international theatre about dreams, destruction and deceit.

“Stimulating food for thought” **** – Evening Standard on fanSHEN’s recent sell-out show Shooting Rats

fanSHEN believe in stories and telling them as a vital function of being human. We create internationally influenced theatre, which is both dynamically physical and affectingly psychological. We seek unusual spaces where we can explore new relationships between the people involved in the live act of theatre.

Company of Angels was set up in 2001 by John Retallack to foster and produce new and experimental theatre for young audiences. The company’s mission is to broaden the definition of theatre for young people through experimental projects and new productions of a high artistic standard. The Young Angels Theatremakers Award, now in its third year, offers one
emergent creative team the opportunity to develop and produce a new European play for young audiences. 2009 winners fanSHEN were selected from a highly competitive field of applicants.
