The poignant satire on World War I

Oh, What A Lovely War! presented by London College of Music/University of West London at Watermans.

Joan Littlewood's musical entertainment Oh, What A Lovely War! - the ever popular war games with songs, battles and a few jokes.

The classic British musical Oh, What A Lovely War! commemorates the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1, and this year also marks the  centenary  of the woman who revolutionised ‘theatre’ in the UK.

Featuring many famous songs of the period, and presented as a music hall revue, the show is a satirical and poignant take on “the war to end all wars”.

An amateur production by arrangement with Samuel French Ltd, this show is performed by students from the BA Musical Theatre course at the London College of Music.

The original production was devised by Theatre Workshop, Charles Chilton, Gerry Raffles and members of the original cast. The title was suggested by Ted Allen.

If you missed the recent revival at TRSE, this is your chance to catch the musical that looks at war from the point of view of the ordinary soldiers. Hear those iconic numbers ‘Pack up your troubles’ or ‘Make a Man of you’ and support the musical talent of the future.

The London College of Music (LCM) is the largest specialist music and performing arts institution in the UK and has a rich heritage of over 120 years, recently diversifying to offer courses in musical theatre, musical direction, new writing, theatre design, technology and acting.

The three year BA Musical Theatre focuses on acting through song within a conservatoire environment. New writing is placed at the heart of the curriculum with one large-scale new musical theatre work commissioned each year. Recent alumni have gone on to appear in the West End, UK and European tours.
