Waterside Festivals Attract Local Crowds

Free events bring live music and entertainment to regenerated Brentford Lock

Over 3,500 people have enjoyed the first two Brentford Waterside Festivals, part of a series of free family events for this summer organised by British Waterways and supported by ISIS Waterside Regeneration.

The festivals, which include live music and children’s entertainment, have already attracted crowds of local people to the regenerated Brentford Lock area.

Local people can enjoy these waterside events for the next three Sundays, with a range of free live entertainment on offer, plus a number of paid-for activities, including cycle hire from newly established Wizzbike.com, boat trips, angling, face-painting, a merry-go-round, children’s crafts, local community stalls and refreshments including a Pimms bar.

Louise Fishleigh, Leisure Development manager for British Waterways London, explains “We are delighted with the response so far from the people of Brentford who have been out in force for the first two Brentford Waterside Festivals - enjoying the entertainment, waterside eateries and relaxing canal environment. The weather has been brilliant and we hope that the remaining three events will as sunny and popular.”
