Theatre, opera, tennis, picnics and more throughout June and July
HammersmithLondon’s Summer Festival returns to Lyric Square for 2013, this time honing in on our community appreciation for live arts.
HammersmithLondon says it is again be providing free entertainment, sport and live outdoor arts throughout the summer, not just every lunchtime but also including a number of free events during the day and over some evenings.
Here's what's on offer throughout June and July:
The Frenzy by RashDash
Tuesday 18 June, 12pm - 3pm and 5pm - 7pm
Wednesday 19 June, 12pm - 3pm
This is "noisy, messy, fierce, funny and beautiful" theatre at its best as RashDash unleash a euphoric, ferocious frenzy on the street.
HUBBAK FESTIVAL 2013 (HAFLA IN THE SQUARE)
Saturday 22 June (12pm - 6pm) and Sunday 23 June (12pm - 5pm)
Take a peek through the "window of contemporary Arab culture" in this 2 day festival featuring themed music, poetry, contemporary dance and delicious delights.
BIG SCREEN WIMBLEDON ACTION IN THE SQUARE
Monday 24 June - Sunday 7 July; Timings will vary.
The Big Screen returns. Hooray! Expect live action all the way from Wimbledon, deckchairs and hopefully sun, sun sun!
PICNIC IN THE SQUARE / ROAMING CARICATURE ARTISTS
Tuesday 9 July and Wednesday 10 July, 12pm - 3pm
Spend lunchtimes in Lyric Square, soaking up the sun rays whilst enjoying this picnic themed event complete with caricature fun art.
ROYAL OPERA HOUSE - LA RONDINE
Thursday 11 July, 7.30pm - 10pm
Enjoy this live streaming of La Rondine from the Royal Opera House.
PICNIC IN THE SQUARE / LITERARY FESTIVAL
Tuesday 16 July and Wednesday 17 July, 12om - 3pm
If you go down to Lyric Square this lunchtime, you'll be sure of a big surprise. Themed picnic event with all the trimmings plus if you are a avid book lover, you will enjoy Hammersmith's two day Literary Festival with books galore and live poetry.
ROYAL OPERA HOUSE - Tosca
