Parents and carers whose children will be starting reception in primary school or transferring to secondary school in the borough of Hounslow in September 2025, can now begin applying for a school place for their child.

The online application process allows families to choose six schools for both primary and secondary.

The council says that to avoid disappointment, it is vital not to miss the application deadline:

• Those with a child in Year 6 and born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, will need to apply for a secondary school place. Applications must be submitted by Monday 31 October 2024.
• Parents and carers with a child born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, will need to apply for a primary school (reception class). The deadline for applications is Sunday 15 January 2025.

Any applications received after the deadlines will be considered late, and late applications will only be processed after ‘on time’ applications.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment, said, “Primary and secondary applications are an important step in every child’s life, and we have fantastic schools in Hounslow. No matter what school your child eventually attends, we will ensure they receive the highest standard of teaching from passionate professionals.

“Every year schools in Hounslow are providing children and young people with an enriching education and the support they need to develop and grow into well-rounded individuals.”

All schools in the borough have been rated either ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ during the last inspections conducted by Ofsted, the independent regulator responsible for standards in education, children’s services, and skills.

The Schools Admissions Team will be able to offer advice and assistance by phone, on 02085 832 711 or by email on admissions@hounslow.gov.uk

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
