This year saw 88% of children applying to a primary school in the borough of Hounslow getting their first choice.

National Primary Offer Day was this Wednesday 16 April and the Pan London Admission Board, responsible for the coordination of school admissions across London, released the data which shows an increase for first choice offers in Hounslow. In 2022 the proportion was 85%

Only 4% of children weren’t offered a place in one of their top three choices and only 2% didn’t get anything in their top six preferred schools for entry this coming September.

Families should receive an email with the results of their application after 5pm on Wednesday 16 April. They need to accept their child’s offer using the national online EAdmissions portal by Wednesday, 30 April. After this date it won’t be possible to respond online.

Families that were not offered their first choice of school will also be sent a letter, explaining their options and next steps.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, said, “In Hounslow, we are naturally proud that 96 per cent of our primary schools are recognised by Ofsted as either ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ so I am thrilled for the families and students who have secured a school place for this September.

“Our primary schools remain a provider of foundational learning for children across the borough.”
